VISION

The Pride Museum of Texas is unique in the global fabric of LGBTQ+ institutions. Although we are Texas-based, our programming and exhibitions speak to audiences around the world. Our goals: Research, educate, empower, unite.

MISSION

We educate and actively advocate for the equal protection and liberation of our Rainbow Community in Texas and beyond. We are inclusive and representative of all – regardless of race, gender, ability and socio-economic background.

OUR PLAN

Presenting our history requires a multifaceted approach. Our permanent home will include numerous components to educate and document our history and creative achievements.

Oral History Lab
A space for visitors to document their stories and share their objects

Exhibition Galleries
Host temporary exhibitions and our permanent collection of fine art and material culture that presents the history of the queer community

Archive & Reading Room
Promote scholarship and preserve cultural heritage

Residency Program
Nurture the next generation of artists, writers, and scholars

Performance Hall
Host venue for screenings, conferences, theatrical productions, and more

Memorial
Remember lives lost and celebrate queer joy and perseverance

ORAL HISTORY PROJECT

The history books don’t capture our journey. So, we’re preserving the oral history of our community for generations to come. Share your LGBTQ+ experience
